WHAT IS SOUL  THERAPY?

Soul Therapy is really no different from psychotherapy. After all, the word psyche means "mind, soul, or spirit".

Influences and Elements of a Session with Me

Shamanic Counseling: I see every significant experience as a form of journey. Having studied with shamanic practitioners, I can incorporate intuitive readings, journeying to receive messages from guides, and integration counseling after a journey.

Psychosynthesis and Gestalt: Integration leads to change. Gestalt gives us tools to be with the unknown, and psychosynthesis gives us a framework to process using creative expression.

Through art, stories, visualization and embodiment we can integrate our shadows and become more successful.

Astrology: My vision is never fatalistic, and is always inspired by free will and opportunity for positive change. I am always pleased to orient our work within the mythology of the stars.

Conscious Creation:  This is about using your mind to affect your emotions and using your emotions to get you what you want.

This is never about blame for unwanted circumstances. In fact, unwanted circumstances and emotions provide crucial material for the work. Everything that comes up for you is useful and a tool.

Romantic Manifestation Bootcamp:

The work of Ellen Fein, Deborah Castellano, Robert Greene, G.L Lambert and more have inspired me to share the many world traditions around dating and seduction so that people who need people can find them and find them well with heart and ego in tact. (See more under tab "Savage Seduction".)

Kundalini:

The cerebrospinal fluid that travels from the base of our spine to the base of our skull carries potential to enhance our mood and health.  As a devotee of kundalini yoga, I share the simple, safe exercises to address imbalances in body and spirit.

I learned additional techniques about energy manipulation via various breath techniques via my 2017 certification in Somatic Sex Education.

Chaos Magic: Don't be scared. We are all doing magic all the time. The study of magic allows us to use our super natural powers with mastery and intention. I like Chaos Magic because it assumes no supernatural powers beyond the untapped potential of our own brains. Like gestalt, the type of psychotherapy I was trained in, Chaos magic can be highly experimental and playful. Think also along the lines of self hypnosis and NLP.

Indigenous Wisdom: I feel blessed to have been taught the basics of the Yoruba tradition from Nigeria (mainly working with ancestors, the Orisha, and divination). Related but closer to my own heritage is Louisiana folk magic. Commonly called "the magic of the oppressed" this blend of ancient tricks and recipes by countless immigrant groups as well as enslaved African people and Native Americans, feels like a righteous melting pot of wisdom from "the people" of America. Wisdom passed down from people who found so much magic in their will to survive, they could do effective work from ingredients out of their own kitchens, and back yards. Let us be inspired by the strong will and creativity of these national ancestors.

Clinical Psychology:

Having been trained as a psychotherapist at CIIS and completing an internship where I worked with a small group of teachers (some of whom studied directly with gestalt therapy founder Fritz Perls himself), I am qualified to provide support in all therapeutic settings.

In this accredited, experiential degree program I mainly learned effective listening, ethics awareness, and formulating effective interventions in sessions with clients.

Some differences between me and a standard psychotherapist :

*I chose not to become licensed

*I also use intuitive divination systems such as astrology and action oriented techniques like coaching.

*Despite being trained in trauma, addiction, and suicidality if these themes are raw in our sessions I will provide references to therapists who specialize in these important areas.

*I am happy to work with you while you also work with other practitioners.
